Hello!

After having 2 horizontal C-sections I have to have a classic one this time. Just wondering if there are others in the same situation and if you thought there was a big difference with recovery times and pain.

  • My first section was an emergency classical section. Reason was my bubs was 10 weeks early and had only a weight of 880grams. They didn’t know how weak / strong she was and apparently a classical section is less traumatic to the baby. My second section (1 year and 3 weeks after my first section) was a normal horizontal section. It was booked 2 weeks early to prevent me to go in normal labour, with the chance of rupture.
I found little difference if at all between the recovery of those sections.

  • I wonder why that was recommended? Perhaps you can ask your doctor about it and make sure you are happy with the decision and the pros and cons. I read classic ones were done when the baby was premature. I also thought that 3 c-sections in total was the most that were recommended, so perhaps the reason has something to do with that?

  • I hope you found an answer. I have only had horizontal sections.

  • Wow, this was posted months ago and not one reply! Mustn’t be a thing that happens much at all :/
