Hello!

What kinda weird stuff has happened when you haven’t had your kids with you?

In April my partner and I had 3 nights without the kids. When we first dropped off the kids to my dad, we got to our destination in about 2-2.5 hours. Within half an hour I had a splitting headache and had to take a nap because it was so quiet without the chaos of our 4 kids bahahaha

  • We often talk about separation anxiety in our kids, but maybe we have it ourselves a bit too ;)

  • I keep looking for my kids when they’re not with me… it’s just such a habit to keep an eye on them.

  • Love it! The silence of not having children around can be deafening at times!

  • No, I can’t really think of anything weird. I wasn’t often apart from them though, not until they were older. I sense this is a bit of tongue in cheek question

  • oh lol! i get seperation anxiety and miss my kids so i can’t fully enjoy what i am doing lol.

  • My sister in law used to hassle us to let her have my kids sleep over at hers. The very first time it happened, her son slammed the door on my daughters fingers and we had to pick her up. The next day, my son jumped off the verandah onto the trampoline and put his knee into his chin, his teeth went through his tongue…..Dr visit resulted. It was a long ti e before my sister in law asked my kids for a sleepover again lol

  • yep I find myself looking for the kids when I go out without them because I\’m so used to them around me.

  • Well with that first evening, I had a nap and woke up ok, but still not 100%, but woke the next morning feeling good and calm =)

  • Hope your head cleared and you had a good holiday. :)

  • Sometimes plans and trips do go a little off course!

  • No indeed. Not the best way to start. Maybe you were worried about leaving the kids at home. And that was the way your body showed it.

  • Haha was certainly horrible!! We had more factors than just the wedding though. We decided on the 3 nights instead of one as we had the wedding, our 5th anniversary was coming up as well as my birthday, so we thought we would get in as much celebration as we could whilst we were kid free =) Starting it off with a headache didn’t help much bahaha

  • Ha! Ha! Poor you! I never went away without my daughter so for now I can’t tell you. :-)
