  • I start picking up things like stocking items now (actually I started weeks ago), but now the kids are older and more changeable, I leave the big presents till closer to the time.

  • I’m late this year, still have to buy some pressies and nothing is wrapped !

  • I buy presents thoughout the year when I find them on special and leave all the food till just before Christmas.

  • Merry Christmas to all the Moms here. Lucky this year we are going to the Inlaws place and going out with my direct family . This year has been some health issues so good to be a bit relaxed and done most of the Xmas shopping , but hate wrapping !

  • I finished my shopping and have done most of my wrapping, yay !

  • We start our Christmas preparations officially on 1 December with our tree raising and gingerbread house construction. However, we do send children off to help soak the fruit for Christmas puddings a few weeks before and we purchase the gingerbread house kit in advance. Also, in my very large family we make one really awesome present for just one relative (drawn out of a hat) so we have a year to make it.

  • We’ve been putting Christmas presents aside since around July as things have come up,on sale that would suit the kids, and also because we have birthdays to budget for towards the end of they year. My niece’s birthday is just 10 days before Christmas. So it gets hectic! As far as food prep, that has to wait until the couple of weeks before Christmas, when we find out what the family is planning.

  • Every year I promise that I will get organised early, in reality, that never happens.
I usually buy stuff approx. 2 weeks before Christmas. I’m so slack!

  • I only have 1 more present to buy and that is me completely done apart from food for the day!

  • i buy presents on sale through out the year, clothes at the end of seasons ect
I also look for the generic gifts as well. Months ago a gift shop was closing down so i organise all the teachers/educators gifts!

  • I am. I have been buying gifts since about July and am now starting to do my meal prep…..working out our menu and then writing lists of what I need to get and from where. I’ve also started working out what will be in the advent calendar (we do activities not chocolate ones) and what shenanigans our elf will be getting up to

  • I have been buying presents when I see something on sale – since maybe September

  • I buy presents throughout the year when I find them on special.

  • I buy gifts throughout the year and usually when things are on sale. I out them away with people in mind, KK gift, stocking filler etc. I also buy cards, wrapping etc at the end of year sales for the next year.

  • Food I leave closer to Christmas Day, presents are throughout the year and decorations and tree go up on December 1st as a family.

  • When I had kids at home, I use daily to do lay bys throughout the year. Then it’s not such a massive drain in one hit.

  • I shop for presents throughout the year so it doesn’t end up being a huge expense closer to the day – it’s a great way of cashing in on some of the mid year sales too. Non perishables can also be bought in advance, leaving only the meat, vegetables and salad ingredients until closer to Christmas.

  • I have half my toy shopping done. Most freezer stuff ordered through chrisco and starting to buy extra cupboard things to keep unt then. Looking to buy extra clothes and other things when they come on sale.

  • I try and get some presents put aside early as I see them, keeping in mind alot of toys of interest get released later in the year! We keep our decorations/tree from the year before and buy wrapping paper when its on sale for boxing day. We layby throughout the year and look out for the Mid year toy sales!

  • Not really. I have some ideas and a few presents put aside but it’s snuck up on me this year!
