Some people like the taste of fake sugar, but I do not. It leaves a disgusting aftertase in my mouth. The sugar flavour itself is very sweet, if you are going to use in baking I wouldn’t recommend swapping half a cup of sugar for half a cup of stevia – it would be far too overpowering.

I’ve tried stevia but have not purchased it for home use.

I have successfully swapped for my tea and coffee. I think like 1/4 of a teaspoon of stevia is 1tsp of sugar. It is an expensive way to cook with the containers of sugar being around the $8 mark. It does have an after taste that you need to get use to. I have not tried baking with it but I have heard from others it’s successfull

It’s pretty much like sugar, just way healthier. Might take some experimental time to work out your tastebuds, but once you’ve done that, cruising

I am glad that I came across this post. I have been thinking of trying stevia. Thanks ladies; I think I will stick with normal sugar or honey.

I would stay away from all artificial sweetners they are all so bad for your health and in the long run worse than sugar. Sugar isnt the enemy in moderation.

I have used Stevia but don’t like the taste, I’d rather use raw sugar and treat myself on rare occasions.

I prefer natural sugar to stevia and other artificial sweeteners. I think that, in the long run, natural sugar is probably more healthier for you.

There will be no difference in the end result except for the taste. I find stevia to have a funny after taste that I don’t like. Definitely try honey or agave nectar if you’re looking for a natural sweetner 🙂

i use honey. haven’t use stevia yet….i am not that brave really. dont know how it tastes like

I would opt for raw honey/ organic maple syrup or agave nectar as a sweetener before turning to Stevia.
