Hello!

Suggestions!

Valentine’s approacheth and we are in budget.
What can I do to make it special and what can I give hubby dear?
Last year I did the cheesy love coupon where he gets a coupon of massage or food or whatever. Any other clever suggestions?

  • Why do we need a special say to tell those we love that we love them? You should be making each other feel special every day, not just Valentine’s Day

  • just curious as to what you did do!

  • Last year I bought a cheap chocolate mould and made my own heart shaped chocolates, and gftwrapped them nicely

  • Hope you managed to make/create or find a wonderful thing. Enjoy the day!

  • Maybe a make a canvas, i did this for mine last year I painted it then painted the 1st letter of our name and wrote our anniversary on it, you could also stick photos on it too

  • I’m single, but would maybe cook a lovely meal and make it romantic. Candles, his favourite food, watch a romantic movie while eating chocolate covered strawberries.

  • A picnic in the backyard is always a winner – pop up an umbrella, make a few slices or strawberries covered in chocolate, some wine or beer. Depending on your preferences, you can have the kids with you or you could give them some activities to keep them busy while you and hubby have some time out.

  • Cooking a beautiful meal you both enjoy with champagne is always a winner!

  • I would suggest a love letter.

  • A pamper session is always nice too – turn your home into a day spa!

  • Make your own origami heart card… There’s some really cute easy ones. How nice you’re putting in effort

  • Just spending time together is great. My husband will be away for work again this year. If you really want to do something spacial, wake up early and eat a picnic breakfast watching the sun rise (or choose sunset if you prefer).

  • Great idea, rachelvyk. I’ll start looking around for one of these myself. I’m not sure what to get my hubby this year either, but not that flush with money, as usual.

  • One year I was given silk flowers similar to my wedding bouquet.
I can look at and cherish it everyday

  • Maybe a clear lolly jar filled with your partners fave lollies, and a love card.

  • How about baking something? We have a busy February with our wedding anniversary and my birthday so one year I made heart shaped cakes.

  • Rachelvk… what a great idea you had!!
Last year for S. Valentine I gave my husband one small diary that lasts 3 years, where every day he can answer some questions about what’s happening in his life. I think it was from kiki.

  • Picnic lunch or dinner is always nice and romantic – minus children!

  • I love the coupon/voucher idea but understand you probably want to do something different this year. I am not much of Valentine’s Day person, but our anniversary is in February so I’m also thinking love gifts at the moment. I have bought a frame and inside the frame is a printed piece of paper that says “I love you because…” then I have a marker that can write on glass so that you can complete the message and change it any time you want to express the thing you love about him that day or week or as often as you like!
