Hello!

Hi moms, can someone please advise of a good pesticide for lawn crickets . I have done the dish washing detergent method and also used Radiant washing liquid mixed in warm water and poured onto the cricket holes, after doing this I have even had our friendly magpies walk around picking them up and pulling them out of the surface of the lawn. This method is good and it is pesticide free but I know that we are not getting all the crickets up and am sure that eggs are hatching under the ground and more of these darn pests emerge. Was wondering if anyone has had complete success at eradicating these pests as they really do ruin a lovely lawn.
Thank you in-advance.

  • Might be time to get some expert advice?

  • We’ve never had lawn crickets before. Our lawn problem at the moment is moss growing through it

  • We had crickets which had burrowed down into our lawn. Our pup could hear them and kept digging holes trying to catch them. When various methods to deter the pup from digging holes failed – she simply dug at a different angle, Dad dug the holes a bit deeper and tipped Turpentine in them and refilled them when the soil started to dry. No more crickets.
Another problem, crickets will follow light and crawl under doors and go inside your home. What I have just been advised of is that they can do a considerable amount of damage to carpets, and other types fabrics.
