Hello!

I’m looking for a nice home fragrance. I love the smell of when you walk into one of those hippy or gypsy shops. Natural scents are my preference- I’m just looking for something that works and lasts.

  • I don’t use any myself, but notice at my daughters therapies they often use an electric diffuser.

  • You could try oil or reed diffusers.

  • I’ve tried sandlewood incense and vanilla candles.

  • Frangipani can be nice – strong but not overpowering.

  • I love scented candles,my favourite at the moment is Vanilla and Ocean. We also use an air fresher to get rid nasty smells!

  • I was alot like you when it came to scents.. i loved my incense but then for christmas my mother brought me a electric warmer and the scentsy scent coconut and lemongrass and OH MY GOD… I feel in love.. ive since ordered heaps more as my house smells phenomenal now…love it …lol xx

  • I use Sonoma Sunset in soy wax in a warmer – best smell ever and great if you have kids, pets etc =)

  • I use sandlewood incense… it’s amazing

  • I have oil burners and use lavender, or bergamot, but lots of exotic oils to choose from. At Christmas Cinnamon or nutty smell goes well. Keep out of reach of children

  • I recently gota scentsy warmer. Love it and love that you don’t use candles so you can leave it on all the tome without worry !!!

  • I used to use Nag Champa incense but stopped once baby was born & now use a reed diffuser

  • I use Candle Fragrance oils that people use when making candles. I love the “Chocolate” fragrance, also the “Sugar Cookie”, and Vanilla Coconut. If you contact the following company, you can buy bottles of the fragrant oils at really reasonable prices.

  • Ah …you’re probably talking about Nag Champa incense…isn’t it the hippie shop go-to? I like using essential oils in an oil burner because I find incense a bit too irritating although when I do burn incense I prefer a good quality Japanese incense- it’s much more delicate and less pungent than el cheapo perfume based sticks. I love oils because if you get yourself a few favourites you can mix it up a bit. I like Jasmine at the moment…and cedarwood. Aromatherapy is such a personal thing and depends on your mood really.

  • Im addicted to candles and burn them all the time.
Ive found that I ahve to be careful with Vanilla though as much as I like it as it gives me a crashing headache 🙁

  • I’m using dragons blood,beautiful

  • I use essential oils mixes. I have a really good aromatherapy book and use an oil burner (you can use an electric one). This means I can mix the scents to suit my needs. I often burn a calming mix. If you do use essential oils make sure they are the pure ones that you buy from places like health food stores and not the cheap $2 shop ones as they can contain nasties

  • I love the ambi pur fragrances, my favourite is the lavender and if you buy them on special it’s cheap enough. I mean the ones you plug into the power point and they let out a fragrance the whole time and you set the level as to how strong you want it.

  • I usually use a burner with melts and the same scent in the tealight. i find it works well and lasts and lasts. It also depending on the scent you use masks the smell of cooking tripe and smoked fish! (for this i use a coffee scented melt and tealight combo) There are a huge range of these products available everywhere but i much prefer the partylite ones as there is not as much smudgy smoke when extinguished. If $$$$ are a huge consideration crazy clarkes and the cheap shops have a good range of essences too.
I usually put a couple of drops of essential oils in the rinse cycle of my washing when doing towels, sheets and curtains, this gives a lovely lingering fragrance without being intrusive.

  • I love soy scented candles. At the moment I am burning one from Dusk (rose and tangerine) that my daughters gave me for my birthday. Its lovely and subtle and not too florally.

  • I have fragrance smelling candles on all the time at my house the shop “dusk” does very well out of me 🙂
My favourite at the moment is strawberry vanilla
