I think this is a personal choice however I am not sure i could teach my child at the same extent that she would learn being in a school. Going to school offers so much more than just the chance to learn the curriculum, it also gives them life skills of meeting and interacting with other kids and learning right from wrong.

I’m not home schooling myself but have several friends who do it, most of those have a child with a disability and or special needs. We got a taste of homeschooling with the Covid endemic and I found it very tough with our youngest (she has a severe intellectual disability, severe ADHD combined type and ASD level 2) and I was not able to motivate to do any learning tasks with me

I know some families who home school and their kids are pretty quiet whenever we see them which makes me nervous about the social aspect but that being said I’ve met plenty of other kids who are quiet and they go to school so there’s no way you can tell what works best for each individual child. I was quiet growing up and to be honest I hated school. I think home schooling is a wonderful thing if you are organised and able to keep regular with it

I live in a small coastal town and have met a lot of mums who either home school or aim to. They love it and wouldn’t consider anything else. It’s personally not something I would consider for our family. I am very under qualified to educate my child the way I want their schooling to be.
