My daughter home schools my grandson and she finds it great. My grandson went to school but found some bullying so my daughter pulled him out. I can understand the bullying can be bad but I also feel that in our lives we’re always going to find a bully no matter where and what we’re doing. I feel it’s necessary for kids to learn about bullying and how to stop it. This was just little kids telling the other kids what to do so to me that wasn’t really bullying. But he likes home schooling and is very intelligent. He’s doing wonderful. Plus, my daughter is also teaching him proper English and to write properly and to use proper grammar which aren’t taught in schools. But if you have the time and the patience to do it, go ahead but myself I couldn’t.

I think this is a personal choice however I am not sure i could teach my child at the same extent that she would learn being in a school. Going to school offers so much more than just the chance to learn the curriculum, it also gives them life skills of meeting and interacting with other kids and learning right from wrong.

I’m not home schooling myself but have several friends who do it, most of those have a child with a disability and or special needs. We got a taste of homeschooling with the Covid endemic and I found it very tough with our youngest (she has a severe intellectual disability, severe ADHD combined type and ASD level 2) and I was not able to motivate to do any learning tasks with me

I know some families who home school and their kids are pretty quiet whenever we see them which makes me nervous about the social aspect but that being said I’ve met plenty of other kids who are quiet and they go to school so there’s no way you can tell what works best for each individual child. I was quiet growing up and to be honest I hated school. I think home schooling is a wonderful thing if you are organised and able to keep regular with it

I live in a small coastal town and have met a lot of mums who either home school or aim to. They love it and wouldn’t consider anything else. It’s personally not something I would consider for our family. I am very under qualified to educate my child the way I want their schooling to be.
