Hello!

My 6 year old son who is normally very well behaved at school had started acting up at school. He has been suspended from school for the second time in two weeks. This is really starting to affect his education, I have had serious talks with him about his behaviour being unacceptable and he knows it is wrong but I am worried that when he goes back to school he will act up again after being back at school for a few days. His behaviour put his class mates in a dangerous environment and caused injuries to another student which I am very upset about. I would like to hear from any parents if they have been through this with their children as I would really like to sort this out before it gets out of hand.

  • Were you able to find out what was causing the behaviour change?

  • have you considered getting him the autism/aspergers or similar disability test. He might be having communication difficulties or cognitive delays – it usually begins to be noticeable around 6. It would be worth a try to see if there is something to explain his actions then you can understand and get the support he needs.

  • ask him what is going on if he has no idea it may be time to get some specialist help.
