Nothing in the cot. Sid approved sleeping bag only, dummies and comforters only after 1 yes old for us.

Yeah, I just don’t have anything in the cot with them. And use layers and sleeping bags rather than blankets

Monitors are useful with camera’s. The way you tuck them in is important plus safety pads help too around the cot for comfort and safety. The cot I had was really safe too.

In cool / cold weather you can use a baby sleeping bag / grow bag.
One of ours starting rolling over much younger than babies normally do. He would put on a towel on his stomach to dry his back etc. quickly and he rolled himself back onto his back almost immediately. When he was old enough to have tummy time he hated it and would scream non stop until he was put back onto his back. We needed to cover our ears he was so loud.
You will probably find that in the waem / hot weather even if you have airconditioning they tend to roll around more as the mattress holds baby’s body heat and baby moves onto a cool spot during sleep. You may put baby one end of the cot, check later and baby be the opposite end or laying across the cot instead of lengthwise.

I was really concerned about my son rolling in his cot numerous times each night (i would get up to roll him back each time!) I ended up calling SIDS for advice and they said if he was rolling himself there wasn’t too much to worry about as he can roll himself back again. Took a little bit of getting used to but i learnt to not worry..

As it has been said, make sure you have nothing in the cot with baby, and instead of wrapping, look at Grobags or similar to keep them warm. Safest way to keep them warm in winter.
Also make sure, once they start pulling themselves up, move anything within grabbing distance on or outside of the cot.

Just make sure there are no loose items in the cot and pieces of clothing can’t get tangled or so. Soft protection on the inner side of the cot should be safely secured.Check regularly and make to have a baby monitor in the room.

I used some guards that wrapped around the cot. They were breathable bits of material so if bubs face was pressed against it they could still breathe. Other then that I don’t think there is anything else that is safe! x
