It usually crumbles when it Drys so I hope the other comments helped

1. Vacuum up as much of the play dough as you can. If there’s still some play dough stuck to the carpet, try the next method.
2. Dampen a cloth with hot water, and place it on top of the play dough. Let it sit there for about an hour. This will soften the play dough, making it a lot easier to remove.
3. Brush the play dough off the carpet with a stiff brush to remove any small bits of play dough stuck to the carpet. It’s best to do this when the play dough is dry. Be careful not to pull up some of the carpet with the play dough.
4. Stick more play dough onto the play dough stuck to the carpet. Although this may seem counter-intuitive, once you’ve stuck some more play dough on top of the existing play dough, you might be able to pull it all off the carpet together.

I would wonder if like chewing gum, putting ice on it would make it in hard and easier to get out?

Agree with the other comments. Let it dry and it should, hopefully, crumble away.

I have used ice to get play dough (and chewing gum) out of carpet. Put the ice on the play dough until it freezes and then you should be able to pick it off with your fingernails and then vacuum.

freeze it and gently brush it out, or dilute with soda water and sop up (less effective)

I have both playdough and that coloured magic sand in my carpert , waiting for the next hot day to steam clean the floors works every time. We made the decision to buy one a few years ago due to kids been kids and Has saved us so many times. From My dughter deciding to pour a jar of honey through the lounge room, to my son last year drawing with text easter bunny foot prints on the carpet through the study…. As well as other stains they have done……

Wait till it drys and then it will break up so much easier

Let it dry and then work it with your hands. The other option is to use and ice cube to freeze it – although I haven’t tried that option.

This is a tough one! I have found that once dried, it crumbles and is easier to clean – the colour may be an issue though. Try in future, to keep it a strictly outdoor activity (or use it only with a playmat on tiles (it can be a problem in grout too)
