Hello!

My little one loves to wriggle around when I’m trying to change his nappy. Wondering if other mums have some handy tips or tricks I could try to keep him still.

  • I sometimes sit on the side and pop my leg over my baby’s torso – seems to work well

  • Its always a tough one but the only thing that worked for a short time was certain toys that they were only allowed to play with during nappy changes.

  • a good changing table with a raised edge and a toy to distract in their wee hands

  • Maybe hang a mobile just over the change table to distract your baby during nappy changes.

  • I would say distraction with a toy also.

  • Distraction ! Sing a song with your baby or give it a toy.

  • I tuck my little mans arms into his singlet. Fold his arms over his body and them pull his singlet up and over his arms. This keeps them contained for a little bit till he wriggles them out, just long enough for a nappy change.

  • Pull up daipers. Put him / her in the shower / tub if its a messy one to wash them off =)

  • Give your baby something to play with – anything really – to keep them distracted. Things that they aren’t normally allowed to touch (moisturising bottle, bum cream) are extra enticing for them (provided they can’t open it).
