  • We have a couple of favourite restaurants and usually pick one of them and have a birthday dinner there.

  • We have done the parties , picnics and BBQS and have found often they turn out alot of work, expensive , tiring and you don’t get to see everyone who attends. So we decided as a couple when it either of our birthdays we do something different. So we have spent a few days in most of our capital cities .Done road trips and slept in pubs as it was the only accommodation in town or the only building in fine.Sometimes we have just had fish & chips by our local river.Just to be able to celebrate together is enough.

  • I second theme birthdays! I saw one on here which was a “Friend’s” theme which looked fun!

  • I love the theme beginning with a letter – fabulous suggestion! :)

  • Themes are good on a particular interest or hobby, an era like the 60s, 70s etc or you can use a letter ie for Dave’s party everyone comes as something starting with D. A getaway is nice if you aren’t chasing a big party, an event or concert that they really want to go to/do would also be a lovely idea.

  • Love the sound of a themed party! Any ideas for a theme?

  • Party! A big party!! Family, friends, food, drink, music. To make it more fun, try a themed birthday party
