I use it for a long weekend and take a day off here and there,a job l had a couple of years ago l kept most of it and it came in handy when l quit!

I always left at least a week in reserve, as you never know when you may need it. The last lot I had was a 4 week block in January and it felt a bit too long. It’s also dependent on the time of year – generally by the end of the year we’re all exhausted from working and getting through Christmas, so if taking holidays in January I always used to take more than 1 week where possible. During the year it’s nice to be able to strategically tack a few days on to existing holidays to extend them like the Easter break etc – that way you can use as few annual leave days as possible.

well it is up to you. i know a guy who was forced to take time off work because he had built up too much time lol.

My husband just lets it build and takes some time off during Christmas and New Years and always has min 2 weeks unfirceen and unplanned things that may come up.

I always keep atleast 2 weeks, just invade of an emergency

Also, it depends on how much leave you think is required in case something ‘pops’ up.

It is like money – always have some in reserve! 😉

That’s what I do. I think it’s always wise to have a week or 2 of leave up your sleeve for the unexpected events
