  • I never seem to get a decent refund so I just spend it on myself works good

  • Mortgage or offset.

  • We usually save it (in an offset account) into our emergency fund.

  • This years tax return went on airfares to my grand mothers unveiling in NZ.

  • Usually it goes on something boring like bills, but this year we are all upto date and have spare cash which has taken us years to be able to get ahead. So we are buying our daughter a motorbike for her bday and probably a new washing machine, which is not an absolute necessity at the moment as ours is still ok, but figured we would upgrade whilst we have the spare cash.

  • Pay it straight off the mortgage!!!!

  • It always goes to bills sadly!!

  • We generally spend my husband’s on something needed around the house or on a holiday and my return is put towards loans or savings.

  • I hope I get some cash this year… will be saving it!

  • I usually use my tax returns for either house renovations or products that i usually don’t have the money for. One year I had been saving all year for a new car and waited until tax time to start shopping as my tax return was a fantastic boost to my savings and opened up more options when shopping for a car.

  • Regardless of how much you get in return or if you do, I think it should be used wisely because every year is different and cricumstances change. Boring I know.

  • Christmas, normally. This year it will be spent on IVF, though.

  • I always wait 1 month before I touch my tax return than I pay the necessary bills first than the rest is for me. I think what I may like not what I need as I feel than I am receiving a gift from the government. Yea. Xx

  • I use the money to put into an investment account. I like to see my money grow, as old-fashioned as that sounds. I figure that I have worked too hard for the Taxman to squander it away.

  • This Year I’ll be keeping it to go towards bills. Trying to be mor financially savvy.

  • We use it to pay other bills and of course putting it towards the mortgage is a great way to spend this too.

  • Our insurances all come due at tax time so it just seems to disappear.

  • We put it on our mortgage or if we have bills pay them first.

  • It goes towards more bills and car insurance

  • I usually use it to pay more household bills.
