Thank you so much for your input! It’s so hard navigating these early weeks. You want the eldest to have their routine but also petrified at the thought of someone so little getting sick. I can’t wait for the 6 week appointment to alleviate the worry and allow me to leave the house.

Although I only have the one child, many friends around me have two or more and they did not keep their children at home when they had a newborn. It is important for kids to still get out and there are ways to still ensure your newborn is protected during the first 6 weeks.

You are doing so well! To be honest we didn’t keep our elder child home much at all! I know it might sound horrible but we were such young parents and we just followed the advice from the drs, nurses and friends etc and no one really said anything to us about avoiding such things so we were just being hygenic etc but not avoiding outings at all. Thankfully we got through it all safe and sound. You do what works for you and your family and what makes you guys feel comfortable. Xx
