They go through phases. Most of the time it lasts for a few months. In saying that they stop crying as soon as I’m gone.

my two oldest didnt cry at all. as soon as we would arrive they would say bye mum and run away. my third and youngest didnt cry at all for the first week, then cried every day for the next 4 weeks but then stopped just as fast as she stared.

All my kids were fine on day one. Maybe try talking really positively about child care when he’s at home with you.

All kids are different. Just keep trying.

Sounds a bit extreme. Some kids just don’t like it. My son cried when dropped off, no idea how long for but no other crying

How did you end up going?

Luckily this was not a big deal for my kids, but I understand some can keep it up for months. Would it be possible for you to spend half an hour there with them one morning so they see it as a place Mummy spends time too?

How is your child going now? Have you thought to ask the staff how long they cry for once you leave?

It varies between children. They need to feel secure in the knowledge that you’ll be back for them. Children usually calm down after the parent leaves & are distracted by other activities.

I have had three of my five in childcare and have found that the more that you show them that you are concerned the more that they will play on that so if you dont make a big deal and just pull the band aid off quick so to speak and dont hang around when u drop them off {I know its hard } but trust in the teachers they are well trained and dont let your child feel that its a bad thing to be away from you and assure them that you will always be there for them when its pick up time .

My lO has been doing this since he was 10 months old he’s now 2. After you actually leave they will calm down, he normally cries when I leave him with anyone. Has gotten better with me leaving him with my husband. It does pull at your heart strings but they are fine.

You need to persist. I know it feels awful to see them this way. Mine took a few months before the tears went away.

All children are different and some just need more time to accept the changes and settle in.

I hope now that your little child has settled into childcare

There’s a good chance they are just anxious about being away from you, and the tears probably stop when you leave. Talk to the carers…

I think that is a little too long! Clearly the child is extremely distressed. Makes u wonder what happens at the child care
