  • Mebendazole works by preventing the threadworms absorbing sugar, which means they should die within a few days. This medication is 90-100% effective at killing the threadworms, but it doesn’t kill the eggs. This is why the hygiene measures should also be followed for 6 weeks.

  • All should be good within a few days, hopefully, if all goes to plan

  • Its a cycle, can easily get re infected, you need to was all bedding and clothes in hot water, disinfect surfaces. have a look at the life cycle, the treatment kills the worms inside but not the eggs they have come out and layed.

  • a couple of days usually and it should be fine

  • a couple of days usually. The skin needs to heal

  • I would give it 72 hours. Hope it mdoesnt come back!

  • it could take up to around 3 days interested to know how long it did take and if it reoccurred

  • Hope he is all better now, just the mention of worms is yukky

  • It should say on the pack and also treat the whole family and disinfectant the toilet so it doesn’t spread, hope your child feels better soon.

  • It should say on the pack, and yes you have to treat the entire family at the same time, we treat at the beginning of ever school holidays, just to be safe!

  • maybe another couple days? ?

  • My understanding is that you need to treat the whole family.

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • How is your 3 year old now?

  • Hope she got better quick

  • Some great advice given here.

  • One way to tell is placing sticky tape over their bottom. In the morning you will, or won’t, see eggs on the sticky tape

  • Yes it is also important to treat the whole family at once.

  • You need to treat the whole family and if at preschool a letter from your dr advising them to send notes home to treat. Or you will get it back .. You also need to diso your toilet after this child uses. Just so not to share …okay 48 hrs and then no drama,s okay
