Hello!

We have a large family and trying to get presents for everyone can be hard. We spend between $20-50 for extended family and about $150-200 for our kids. Just interested what others spend on presents for their family.

  • One of my sisters in law has said she’s done with presents, so that has pretty much set the tone for most of the family. We are giving each other smaller gifts or none at all.

  • About the same!

  • I try to start very early in the year, my eldest son likes video games so his list only has a couple of things on it because of the expense, I also used rewards schemes like fly buys for gifts or a friend of mine saves her points to buy gift cards for her nieces and nephews

  • My husband spends more on his side of the family than I do on mine. :)

  • We spend on family members between $50 and $150 and let me tell you it certainly adds up!

  • it really can vary. if i saved up abit more, then i might spend a bit more. i don’t buy for extended family unless we will be seeing them on chrissie. it is already an expensive occassion but unless people are visiting us, we won’t be getting pressies off them either lol.

  • the kids usually get a couple of hundred spent on them each – we start at the beginning of the year getting bits and pieces so isn’t as big a burden at Christmas time.

immediate family get a $20-$50 present with photos of the kids

    we don’t buy beyond that.

  • We buy for immediate family and make gifts for others.

  • Around 100 dollars for my daughter, 50 for my husband. And then some small gifts to other people, no more than 20 dollars each.
