Hello!

I am planning to get a breast lift in a year or so, once I am finished breastfeeding my 12 month old. I have had two 5kg+ babies and breastfed both of them, and after 12 years of being overweight/obese I have now lost 32kg. All of this has completely destroyed my breasts. I am starting to research surgery but I have no idea what I am looking for.

How do you choose the right surgeon? What is a reasonable price for a breast lift? Has anyone had one and what was your recovery like? Are you glad you did it? Happy with your results?

It is such a big decision and it costs a lot of money but I honestly need it so bad!

  • Check reviews: Read reviews and testimonials online from people who’ve had similar procedures. Websites like RealSelf or Facebook groups can be super helpful.

View before-and-after photos: Most reputable surgeons will have a portfolio of their work. This will give you a sense of their skill and style.

Schedule consultations: Meet with a few surgeons to discuss your goals and get a feel for their approach. A good surgeon should listen to you and provide honest, realistic advice.

  • Wonder how you’re going with your search ? Have you decided or maybe even had the procedure yet ?

  • You need to consult google and check the reviews beforehand and word of mouths

  • Make sure you have word of mouth recommendations from people that have used them previously

  • Yes on the one hand I would do a lot of research on this as well, websites, public opinion, social media experiences & reviews. At the same time I would go to my trusted GP as well and ask for a referral to a good and trusted plastic surgeon.

  • I personally haven’t but I have begun doing some of my own research and I have been told to read lots of reviews of different surgeons prior to committing to one. Go to their websites, social media pages and any public forums where you can get honest and genuine feedback. Look at their work, ask for before and after pictures and ask for their credentials too. A friend had implants and the one tip she gave me was to shop around so you can avoid the cheapest surgeons on the market, they’re cheap for a reason and when you consider the procedure then the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ rings very true. It seems that a lift can cost anywhere between $4500-$16,000 depending where you live and who you see. Recovery sounds fairly straight forward (from what i’ve read), although like any operation, you will have some downtime of about 1-2 weeks depending on how active you are and how much rest you can get.
hope some of that helped. Goodluck with your search!

  • I am in a similar position – it’s a big decision and there is a lot of information out there.

  • Agree whats been said do re search and get more then one opinion i also recommend taking a friend or relative to support you through the process

  • I haven’t had a lift (yet) but I have had implants. I would recommend checking out plastic surgery hub on insta. Have a chat to the girls on there as they know all the best surgeons and can recommend someone specific to your situation. They feature heaps of surgeons but only ones they recommend. Good luck x

  • Go to your trusted GP and ask him to refer you to a good plastic surgeon, make sure they are accredited. Look at their past work and thoroughly check them out. There are lots of facebook groups where you can get advice and ask people that have had the procedure lots of questions.

  • I haven’t had a lift, but You have do have some options. You can find a plasticsSurgeon from the ASPS members who are professional specialists. It also includes who to ask for good advice or good recommendations. There is also Health Direct – find a good surgeon and RACS. Good Luck ;)
