Hello!

HI Ladies, how have you gotten rid of back fat in the past. I have started doing weights sessions and have been doing this for around 2 months now at home to some videos I found online but it is taking ages for it to go. What tips do you have that have helped you loose the back fat in a quicker way.

  • Ugh, I know how you feel, I tried to lose weight from a particular area of my body and it just didn’t work. Someone told you you lose it from the last place you gained it. Ie your belly
That being said I definitely find swimming a great way to keep my upper body in shape

  • I wouldn’t necessarily say there is a ‘quick fix’ but I used to have a bit of back fat and a bit of a bum, but I found that when I took up running after having kids, everything toned up nicely. I now have a firm back and a smaller bum. Running is a good all over workout.

  • There is no quick way, sadly. ONe thing I would suggest, if you can afford it, is to have a session with a nutritionist. I found this hugely helpful when I got serious about losing weight. It was extra helpful in helping me work out how to feed the family (including teenage boys) and myself, without having to make different meals.

  • I dont have any expert advice for you but i see some great comments on here. Just wishing you all the luck on your weight loss journey! A great idea is to perhaps see if you can speak to a trainer there who can offer you some tips or training advice.

  • You’re doing a great job sticking with your weight sessions—two months is a solid foundation! Back fat is notoriously stubborn, and unfortunately, you can’t spot-reduce fat in one area. But you can speed up overall fat loss and sculpt your back more effectively with a few strategic tweaks:
    Dial Up the Intensity
Progressive overload: Increase your weights or reps weekly to keep challenging your muscles.
HIIT workouts: 15–20 minutes of high-intensity intervals can torch fat fast
Visible changes often take 3–6 months. Keep going—you’re on the right track.

  • As a fitness instructor I have been asked this so many times. I would love to say you can do these exercises, and it will disappear – I would be lying. Cardio exercise and a balanced diet, along with weights or strength training will all work to change your body composition and shape. Be patient and focus on how you are feeling.

  • All bodies are quite unique and people lose excess fat from their bodies in different areas. I have never ever targeted particular areas. I have always gone with a holistic approach to health and well being and weight tends to shift evenly from my body. I like yoga and swimming for a complete body workout.

  • Health and wellbeing is a lifelong journey and quick fixes do not usually go the distance and stay in place. It is more important for me to have a health and wellbeing plan that is incorporated into daily life. Losing weight is a bonus for relieving pressure off the body and essential organs and joints.

  • Just general exercise and movement will help shift weight. Going for brisk walks, bike riding, even just some at home cardio. Gyms have specific machines that can work out your back and shoulders, but just keeping a frequent exercise routine at home will help. Aim for 30 mins of intense exercise (level that you can’t hold a conversation through) a day

  • I do think that exercises and a healthy diet is the way to go indeed. My daughter goes to the gym and does a combination of Cardio and strength training. She says that the cardio helps to burn the calories and the strength training builds the muscles. She eats a high protein low carb diet with lots of whole foods, veggies and whole grains. It’s not an instant fix and also you can’t really predict where the fat will go first.

  • As with any change, it does take time! The weights are good to build muscle, which in turn burns more fat, but perhaps also look at cardio. Can you do a 30-50 minute brisk walk each day in additionto the weights? And really access what you’re putting in…80% of weight loss is food related! Unfortunately, there’s no way to target a specific area…
