Bio oil is my current fav. Coconut oil and I’m going to try: Frank body Scrub. Google it/look it up on Instagram (they have a results page) ppl that suffer from eczema seem to get results!

I bought the brand Eco Tan Coconut Body moisturizer recently for my daughter who suffers from dry cracked skin. BEST PURCHASE EVER!! Cleared up her skin within days. Our whole family use it now and everyone that I have recommend it to say it is the best thing they have ever tried

Have you tried changing the washing powder you wash your clothes in.. two of my kids had the same issue with rashes etc all the time till i found.. Tri nature washing powder only down side is its only purchased online (which is expensive when postage is included) unless you can find a person who sells it locally though a party plan..

I’ve heard Sudocream can be really good for dry skin but failing that try to get an appointment with a dermatologist.

I think you should try petroleum jelly. It sucks to put it on and it’s super sticky but if you put it on two to three times a day, it should help the issue.

I think get it checked by a GP. Maybe it is eczema – or some allergic reaction – and may not just ‘go away’ so easily. How is it scaly? Does it bleed? Definitely get someone professional to look at it.

We, also, tried our GP to no avail 🙁 … In the end a friend suggested that we ask our GP for a referral to a dermatologist.

I was surprised, thinking that they were only for ‘serious’ skin conditions, but nope!

He tested for any underlying fungal or bacterial causes, and then prescribed a mild cream that our local pharmacy made up for us…

Because this is all Dermatologosts do, seeing this sort of thing ALL DAY EVERY DAY, they are better equipped, and experienced, to spot tiny little differences in one type of rash/scaly skin etc compared to another- and can usually diagnose a cause in the first visit…

If you don’t want to visit a Dermatologist, and it’s in an easy to access area, you might want to try an Epsom salt soak?

I have extremely dry hands that crack and split and bleed :'( and when it gets bad, I use 1-2Tbs Epsom Salts, dissolved in warm water, in a 1 to 2L Tupperware container.

I soak for 5 mins, usually sitting in the lounge room watching Telly to stop me getting distracted and splashing LOL.

It may itch or sting a bit if the skin is broken (imagine the saying “rubbing salt into a wound”) but it’s a ‘pain with a purpose’ kind of pain- like scratching a Mozzie bite?

After the first 5 or so mins I pat dry and use a clean and dry face washer/flannel/tea towel to exfoliate any dead skin.

Then, soak for another 10mins in the same Epsom Salt water. Remove hands/feet/elbow etc from water, gently PAT dry (don’t rub) and massage in some unprocessed/raw/organic (whatever is the most ‘virgin’ type that you can find in your local shops will do!) Coconut Oil.

You only need the littlest amount of coconut oil, because it spreads very very well!!

Cover the area if possible (socks on feet, for hands you can use cheap cotton gloves from cleaning aisle in Coles, they’re about $2/or) and go to bed… My hands are basically healed by morning 🙂

Epsom salts are really safe when used externally. They are a natural product that are high in magnesium and the skin can actually absorb it that way.

I don’t do this more than 2 or 3 times a week, so maybe just once a week for your little one?

The coconut oil, however, can be used every night before bed and as often as you want during the day- if you can cover the area (because you don’t want coconut oil everywhere LOL).

Coconut has AMAZING rehydrating properties, as well as being naturally anti-microbial (deters bug and other bad stuff)… And it smells GREAT 🙂

I would reccomend Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and also checking to see if he has any allergies to anything (generally the sign of something they are reacting)

Keep her well moisturised – slather it on a couple of times a day, especially after bathing. We tried all sort of medicated and naturopathic creams for my son when he was younger but found that it was plain old Redwins Sorbolene that worked best for him in the end. It’s cheap, easy to get from BIG W etc and is a much thicker moisturiser that really soaks into the skin. Depending on her age, diet could help too. Foods like fish, avocado and walnuts are full of oils that are good for the skin.

Try olive oil.Rubbing olive oil in daily.
