I’d just turn it off. There may be tantrums at the start, but after a while it will become normal to eat at the table and talk during meals.

I think it’s important to first to sit around the table and explain the new rule and from then on you should be consequent that there’s no tv during dinner.

Turn it off and enjoy the conversation. May be have some topics to get conversations started if your not used to talking as a group…… like a family discussion on what you should all do next Holidays or next weekend. or everyone tell everyone 2 good things about their day, or ask for their opinion on something etc.

I think you just have to turn it off and try and have a conversation. I know that it can be strange for a while but I have found that everyone gets into it to eventually.

Maybe have music on instead of the TV.
Turn off the TV or even move it to a room away from where you eat
Eat at a dinner table and ban all devices during meal times
If they act out… take their plates away… dinner is over!
Doing this once is enough. I promise you your kids will not starve!
If you don’t demonstrate the respect you would like to afford meal times, then it’s difficult to expect them to too. Make sure you lead by example

There should never be a tv near the meal area. However if it is really that bad just unplug it.

Just turn it off and don’t turn it back on again til eating is finished. Maybe you could move the tv or eat in a room that doesn’t have a tv to make things easier
