  • NIce to read the different experiences :)

  • In the kitchen at home while I was making shortbread! Mu now husband had brought the ring and planned to take me out for a nice dinner but got excited and couldn’t wait!

  • I was taken on a trip to Hamilton Island and my hubby organised a day trip out. We went to Whitehaven beach and he proposed on the most beautiful white beach I’ve seen. Cracked open my favourite wine at 10am in the morning lol ????

  • While we are no longer together…
I went to Launceston to visit him (he was there helping his mum) and we went to the park for lunch.
After he ate, he got down on one knee and sat back up.
So I made a joke about how I thought he was about to propose and he said “well, actually,” and got on one knee and proposed.

  • I love reading these stories!
My husband proposed on the roof top resturant of our hotel while on holidays in Bangkok. He’d organised it before hand and had the resturant, wait staff, and hotel staff in on it.
They sat us in a secluded area and after mains brought out dessert covered by a cloche. The waiter lifted the lid and there was a cake in written in chocolate was “Will you marry me?” They had made dessert especially for us and a little protective merange shell that the ring was inside. My husband had slipped it to them as we’d arrived. They had also gone to the flower markets and gotten me beautiful long stemmed red roses. My (now) hubby got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The waiter was great, grabbed our camera and took photos of it for us. It was amazing, even more so because my husband isn’t particularly romantic and I never would have expected something like this from him

  • My man was teaching me some magic tricks and pulled the ring from behind my ear and went down on one knee and proposed :)

  • My husband organised a vintage theme picnic in Mt cootha botanical gardens for a group of us. So we were all dressed up. After lunch, we went for a stroll and stopped by a waterfall. Where he gave me a present. (Me expecting a ring) opened the present it was a fancy copy of pride and prejudice. I looked at it with a bit of what the heck. Then flicked through the pages to find a gorgeous sapphire ring tied on string on the proposal page of the book. Then my man recited Mr Darcy’s proposal. He was so nervous, he stumbled through but it was the sweeter and most romantic thing in the world. I will never forget that day.

  • It was out at dinner for my birthday with extended family – so didn’t expect it as the extended family usually got together out at dinner for everyones birthdays.

  • My husband brought the ring on a Saturday morning and he was planning a romantic dinner but he couldn’t wait so in the afternoon while I was baking he proposed – I was making scones or something that I was mixing with my hands…

  • It wasn’t spectacular. He surprised me with a ring, getting down on one knee in our living room. We’d been together for 3 years at that point and I’d resigned myself that we probably were going to get married because he didn’t seem keen on the idea of marriage. We’ve been married nearly 20 years now. :-)

  • *in front of the fire, not first.

  • We had a romantic night by ourselves at home then in front of the first he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him

  • Also, we get to celebrate the proposal every Christmas.

  • Nothing spectacular. He said we should get married. And I chose a ring.

  • It was a Christmas gift!

  • I proposed my husband, lol !

  • In the car (all his plans were a disaster) overlooking the city of Canberra. My husband had two bears, one dressed as a bride and one as a groom, which he gave to me and asked. So much better than if he had had a ring

  • He wrote me a letter and when I finished reading it I looked up and he was holding the ring!
He said he wanted to do it at a Wests Tigers game and they were all for it until someone died and he wasn’t able to anymore.
I think the letter was a better option. I would have been so embarrassed lol.

  • He just basically said oh I bought you something and then handed me the box I opened it and he then turned around and said well how about it hahaha
