Hello!

I went through an early menopause.
My skin is oily one day – dry the next.
Can anyone recommend something natural that will cleanse and treat acne?

  • Sorbolene is good too and gentle on your skin. Mirenesse also have good anti acne products.

  • A gentle cleanser such as Phisohex. I read on MoMs just the other day of a 14 yo girl using Listerine Gold on her face for acne and it’s cleared it right up. Handy to know

  • mine is a gross one.
my own breast Milk, I used to squirt it onto a cotton pad as i was feeding and sit and cleanse my face as bub fed, it was so soothing, brought out heaps of dirt, my face is so oily one day and the next dry and riddled with small pimples.
I also use Babywipes, my daughters wipes are also ‘Simple” as shes allergic to any others and i have to order them in special from Chemist Warehouse also, they are great for cleaning the face and neck area.

  • Have you tried using Coconut oil?

  • Dermalogica ultra calming cleanser has been amazing for my skin that is always changing (particularly through pregnancy). It’s a little more expensive than supermarket brands but it lasts me SO much longer it works out cheaper to use than anything else.

  • I have the same type of skin and the brand I have found works the best (for me, anyway) is a brand by the name of Simple, and you can buy it from Kmart, and pharmacies. Its great, it neutralises all the patchiness.

  • Cetaphil cleanser is usually recommended from oily skin and can be used for dry as it is a non soap cleanser.

  • Find something from the pharmacy ( I find the chemist warehouse the best ) for natural products that are water based with natural oils in them. Only was once a day. Also look for moisturisers with the same base.

  • just use plain old water, make it cool and do it morning and night

  • I recently tried samples from Rubifresh.
I was hesitant to try this “oil cleansing” but amazingly it works.
AND my skin felt so good afterwards.
Toners are a no-go they burn my skin & dry it out too much.

  • A good toner might help. Be careful not to overcleanse as this will make it worse.

  • I’ve had hideous problems with my skin, on & off for a long time. There’s an Aussie brand called “Rubifresh”, which is the only thing that’s helped me. I’ve tried cheap, expensive, organic, you name it, I’ve tried it, and Rubifresh is the only brand that’s worked for me. Go to rubifresh.com.au for more information. Good luck!

  • i would see a dermatologist for this one! They might find the perfect product for this

  • Go to Chemist warehouse they have a few different brands find the onme that is right for you so just get the smaller size at first and see how that goes they should have essential oils and water based.

  • chat with your pharmacist on what they recommend as they can look at your skin and give you something suitable for you.

  • Have used QV,its soapless cleans really well without drying out your skin.

  • Milk from oats sounds really good – i will try this myself

  • QV products are pretty good if unsure I would be asking the chemist

  • I have heard great things about cold compressed coconut oil, maybe you should have a read up. I have never used it myself as yet.

  • Qv range!
