Hello!

Any one else suffer insomnia? I am a shift worker and have found post night duty last few months I can not sleep at all so am awake 38 hours. I have tried OTC drugs like restavit and they no longer work. Am at my wits end of feeling like death warmed up a few times a month when I do nights. It is so debilitating. Anyone else have same problems and what did you do?

  • I was suffering from insomnia too due to menopause. I cut out caffeine and reduced my sugar intake and noticed a huge improvement

  • Shiftwork has caused insomnia by me too and I use Melatonin since (which I oreder from iHerb) .
Shift work is known to decrease potential lifespan by 10 years. When you can discontinue the shift work, it’s proven to be rather unhealthy

  • My husband worked Night Shift for over 17 years and has trouble sleeping now even though he has retired now from work we have tried many things but all not worked

  • I suffer insomnia terribly and have tried Melotin, Circudin and Restavit. You can buy these at the chemist and I found Restavit to help me more than the others. I wouldn’t go the merry go round with asking the Dr for prescription medication because it’s a slippery slope and they’re addictive. So try one of the ones mentioned and I hope something works for you.

  • Maybe avoid night shifts? Or if you can’t, at least it’s only a couple of times a month you’re out of whack

  • If it’s that severe I’d definitely see your GP for help. You will crash and burn and worrying about it will make it worse.

  • i suffered from the same issue – i worked night shift and just couldnt get to sleep – i had to speak with my GP for some medication to help me sleep – although depends on how long you want to sleep, i did have trouble waking up if the kids needed me. for me it really ended up being about avoiding sugary foods, and caffiene at night rather than drugs

  • No help for you sorry but I take my hat off to you. My sleep is easily messed up and I suffer badly, I could never do shift work without being a complete mess.

  • Hey I would try talk to your GP as soon as possible xx

  • My husband was a shift worker for years and it has took its toll on his Health

  • I was never a good sleeper, but when I did shift work it became very bad. I use Melatonin since that time, that’s for about 35 years now. I can’t sleep without anymore
