Oh wow.. smae in my house! Husband always complaining about the iron (which he generally buys) and I don’t have an issue with it. I do the majority of the ironing so don’t know why its an issue for him? Would be interested in recommendations.

I use a Sunbeam and am very happy with it.

It is best to go to the department stores and have a look as they have a lot of electrical appliance on displays on the shelves now. It gives you an idea of brands , models, function etc without the stress of what is in the box . Try Myer, Bing Lee, Kmart etc …

I just bought a Kambrook from Safeway and my last Kambrook broke Christmas Eve and it lasted over 1 year and it does the job! I wanted to look around but didn’t have time and it is around $35.

yeah bought a relatively cheap iron from big w and we don’t really use ours anyway.

Thanks mom93821 I think we have a sunbeam – I didn’t have a problem with it I figured ironing was just not a great task. I’m not sure if we’ll get a simple iron or if it’s worth forking out the extra for a steam station?

Look up the sites and facebook pages that do reviews on products. These pages and sites can be very helpful when deciding on a new purchase.

I have a Philips iron that has gone on forever and it does a good job too. It is so old that I do not remember when I purchased the iron? 🙂
