We had a staff you cross red heeler, he lived til nearly 15. He was six weeks short of his 16th when we had to put him to sleep because of cancer. Looked after and cared for, dogs can have long happy lives

8 – 12 years depending hoe they are looked after usually

I have a Staffy cross Red Heeler, he’s 13 1/2 and showing no signs of kicking the bucket. He’s slowed down a lot and not as active as he used to be, but that’s to be expected at his age. At his recent vet check, we were told to expect another 4 or so years out of him

My staffy is 4 but I wish she would live for ever shes such a great lovely dog.

I’d say about 12-14 years they remind me of mini rotties gorgeous.

Our last one was 14 when he left us, my current is 2 1/2 and I hope to have just as many years with him.

I wish dogs lived longer.

My husbands staffy lived for 17 years 🙂 We have a staffy/beagle who is 5 and I couldnt imagine life without him.

My friends boy was an elderly 17 years when he passed.

I hope for a very long time but i have heard the larger the dog the less life span 🙁

I always thought that any dog breed could live up to 16 years, give or take – depends on a number of things though. I want our dog to live forever, couldn’t imagine him not being in our lives.

Large dogs have a life span of 10 years any thing over that is a bonus and as they are considered a small breed life span is 16 years any thing over that is a bonus but in saying this it also does not mean that they will definatly live that long medium sized dogs is 14 years this is just a guide that we used when I worked as a vet nurse. You have to take things like health and things like that into consideration. All these ages are not set in stone. They are just a guide.

I know of two, one is 16 yrs and the other is 11 yrs both still living and well so I guess it depends on the dog

I think its just luck of the draw. We had our male staffy 16 yrs & our female for 9yr. Beautiful family dogs.
