It would be good to ask your mid wife for more information on what it means so you can relax and not have to worry.

Does that mean that the cord will be short when the baby is delivered. I know a Mum who has birth to 2 babies a few years apart. Both of them had short cords

As long as the baby is receiving a good flow of oxygen and nutrients from the mother, there is no need to worry. But marginal cord insertion can develop into the dangerous velamentous cord insertion later in pregnancy, so it must be monitored carefully. I lost a baby at 26 weeks at the placenta stopped providing enough nutrition. I’d get a very good gynecologist who can keep a close eye on that as the pregnancy progresses. Good luck. .

I find it fascinating to speak with other pregnant women. While we are all doing the same thing, it seems just about every woman’s experience while pregnant and giving birth is so different. I have never heard of this issue either but I’m off to google it and learn something
