  • I would love to know what you selected and where you got it from.

  • I would have a chat with your daughter about it and maybe you could go shopping together ?

  • My mum (mother of 7) always wore a skirt or pant suit to my brothers wedding. For mine (only girl) she wore a cream mid-length skirt suit with a glossy floral print. She looked lovely & I didn’t have any issue with her wearing cream. I felt it made her look & feel that little more special & let everyone know she was the mother of the bride.

  • I have finally found my dress and very happy with what I have chosen Many thanks everyone for the help

  • As long as you feel comfortable thats what matters. Sometimes you can go to stores and they can help you find a style that syits your body type ❤ good luck

  • You need to feel comfortable in whatever you are wearing. If you have a friend who you know will be honest about how you look then take them with you and they’ll help you to make that special selection.

  • If you go to a plus size shop like Autograph your bound to find something nice to wear and I wouldn’t wear a long dress take someone you trust with you to give a honest opinion of what looks good.

  • City chic has some lovely dresses midi and long length and there’s a sale on at the moment. If it’s too expensive at retail prices for you, if you’re on a budget. You can find where their outlet stores are and they have formal dresses for under $100

  • try TS14+ or city chic – they have some lovely dresses and I’m sure the salespeople will help you find something suitable

  • Something that you will feel comfortable in. It is also a special/big day for you, so you need to feel your most comfortable and confident.

  • Have you thought of long flowy pants and a long flowy assymetrical top, patterned is best and you will look like a goddess, I’m a big girl too I was 131 at my heaviest and I found longer flowy looks refined as opposed to tight and uncomfortable you need to be comfortable and be able to enjoy your daughters day. Good luck, upmarket area op shops are gems for gorgeous dress outfits and they offer great options for 16+. My friend was a 26 I got her some gorgeous items. Much love good luck for your girl too xx

  • I am still not having any luck finding what I want to wear maybe I am being too fussy hahaha
its just that I dont like all that sequins and sparkles its just not me

  • This is my personal point of view : I think a block/solid colour is better than a pattern. Patterns can take focus away in group photos and can sometimes age poorly when looking back at photos years later. Pastels or natural tones in keeping with the theme and not too dark as dark colours can be rather severe and aging depending on your skin tone.

  • Go with a shade that works with what bridesmaids are wearing but that suits you too.

  • Have you made any progress in your choice ?

  • I think a jumpsuit would look really good! They actually make you look thinner.
    I found this on Pinterest.

  • I would go Mid length, in the colour of the wedding colours (my mum and MIL wore purple to match in with my wedding colours)

  • Just find something comfortable and what will suit you.

  • Hey I recently got married, and both my mum and MIL are plus sized. They both looked absolutely stunning and beautiful, they chose midi dresses. My MIL got her dress from city chic.

  • Anything but white will be fine xx
