Hello!

Which is better? Mulcher Mower or Standard Mower? Our standard mower died abut 2-3 weeks ago and some have recommended a mulcher is better but more expensive. Just wondering what other’s have and would it be better to have a mulcher rather than normal? We have a large block with lots of grass.

  • If you are in a fire prone area you need to use a mower which catches the clippings and get rid of them, not left on your lawn or in the garden in the warmer months as it will increase fuel in a fire. Some lawns also get very spongy if you leave any of the clippings on them. The same applies to bark mulch in a garden in prone areas. It will ignite into a fireball.

  • I didn’t know there were different types of mowers – thanks for flagging that as we’ll have to replace our mower in a bit.

  • maybe you could let the mom’s know about your new mower!

  • Thanks Mom81879 my husband likes your answer

  • my husband wants the mulch mower, said the money that we spend will pay off, good quality and will do the job better…

  • I would go for the mulched mower, 2 in 1 function, can’t beat that! And it doesn’t hurt to mulch the lawn at this time of year

  • No idea – we have an electric mower that is good. Good luck with making a decision.

  • I like standard mowers as munchers leave a lot of cut grass that tends to get walked into the house.
