Hello!

My son is 4 months old and there is a white dot where a molar would be and one near the front but I don’t feel teeth. Is it possible for a baby to get a canker sore? He has been chewing everything and anything could it be a blister from them pushing through?

  • Sounds like it could be teeth.

  • It could be or it could be another thing which is normal, I can’t recall what it’s called but it’s like white dots on the gums

  • You never know some babies are born with teeth,

  • my friends baby had this

  • i agree that it could be those pearl drops and they look like little bits of teeth but it’s harmless

  • If you have any concerns I would take him to the doctor just to be sure, but what you’ve described is what our Naughties had before their teeth started coming through. It can be a loooooooong process but they’ll come through eventually! Good luck and hope it’s not too painful for him!!

  • All 4 of my daughters teeth that have came through so far started out as a ‘white dot’. I thought it may have been a blister too but over the week or 2 i watched her teeth just pop out :)

  • Could be thrush, I’d bring him in for a checkup.

  • Sounds like it, but always ask your health care nurse of doctor if you are unsure about anything. They really don’t think your questions are stupid or silly.

  • It certainly sounds like it hun first teeth coming through. Bongella and panadole will help.

  • Usually teeth on lower front come through first -molars are called 2 year old molars cause they usually come through at about 2 years of age every child is different but general rule. He may get small ulcers prior to teeth erupting. Will dribble a lot and be a it cranky…bodello is god as is cold chew toys and if really bad baby panadol

  • Possible as babies can have teeth coming out from 3months old. They may taje while c I ming out but so d I nt panic if they disappear for a while then return

  • Yes and no, they could be but could be pearl drops just keep an eye out my bub had her 1st tooth at 2.5 months and now 13 with almost every tooth including molars.

  • Went *

  • I thought the same when my daughter was that age :) still don’t know what it was but it we away after sometime of me telling everyone she has her teeth coming out, lol. She got her first teeth at seven month :)

  • It might be oral thrush and needs to be checked by a GP and then treated asap.

  • I think it’s something called pearl drops not actual teeth just google it my little one,had them from 4 weeks. I think from memory same symptoms as teething but no teeth be they will come a month or so later :)

  • They don’t usually get molars that young and the first teeth to come is normally the two lower front. Just try rubbing bonjella on the white spots and just wait them out? I’m sure he would let you know if it was sore

  • Our little almost 4 month bloke also has these and we were also told that they were Epstein Pearls-they will come and go. But if in any doubt check them out.

  • I would say they are babie,s 1st teeth, all my babies and grandchildren nad that, hope its not causing little one too much stress, bubs are all different, teething is no exception, the only other thing it could be is thrush, but my guess is his teeth, enjoy!
