Hello!

Hi all,
My 10 year old son still has the occasional night time accident. It’s not an issue or a problem, we just wash the sheets and get on with our lives. However, his class is going on a 3 night camp in a couple of months, and because of this my son has decided not to go. I really want him to be able to go, so I’m looking for recommendations on underwear that he could wear during the night. Nothing that looks like a pull-up. Discreet, real underwear looking. He is on the large size, so looking for men’s products. Thank you in advance :)

  • The chemist will have a range – Depend is one brand that comes to mind.

  • Side note, have you mentioned it to his Gp? Might be worth a discussion now too. I can’t recommend any undies but surely the adult style undies would work great for this and let the teachers know to help him out if he needs. Good luck

  • You can buy re usable nappy pants that look just like undies. I bought some from SneezWeez, beautiful, practical pants that work. I too missed out on school camps due to me wetting the bed til I was 12

  • Could you possibly give him a watch with an alarm or something so he can wake up and go to the toilet and hopefully prevent any accidents?

  • Sometimes if the teachers are aware they will make sure they are in a bed near them or have some other procedure in place that may help.
I’m sorry that I haven’t any suggestions on the actual products but I hope you find the right thing so he doesn’t miss out.

  • Ok, Brolly Sheets have a mystery box sale on now so I’m going to give their night time undies a go. 7 pairs for $50, saving like $160. I haven’t tried them yet but they seem to have good reviews. On the other side of that, I used to be a bed wetter and it just takes time. Talk him through what he can do to try to prevent it. For me, it took me to set my mind on not doing it anymore and really focus before bed that I wasn’t going to do it anymore, and it worked but it took time. Good luck.

  • I don’t have any suggestions for you but have you considered consulting with the school to see if there is anything they could do to assist him while he is there to allow him to go and feel confident. Perhaps he could change and wear a pull up at night but get changed elsewhere away from the other kids and also get changed somewhere else in the morning. I would be trying to talk to the teachers to see if this would be a option as they can ensure the other kids don’t find out? i hope your son goes as i am sure it will be super fun for him. Good luck

  • Btw my son had the occasional accident during the night at that age too. We didn’t make a big fuss about it either. It’s actually quite common

  • You could look into Conni underwear.
