Hello!

I’m not sure what this is called and I can’t find one, but my daughter had one when she was about 10. It was a diary/Journal/Notebook that had preset questions about their friends. Name, birthday, favourite colour, hobby, favourite food or TV show, pets, what they want to be when they grow up etc etc.
I’d love to find books like this suitable for infants and primary school kids (my grandsons). Any ideas where to look or what to search for?

  • Oh I haven’t seen one of these for years but my son had one that was called “My School Years”. I believe that he got it as a gift but he loved filling it out each year, but I just google My school years journal and there was quite a few to choose from.

  • I used to give my kids an exercise book every year for Christmas. In it, I always wrote on 1 or 2 pages. I included info about their current friends, hobbies, school likes and dislikes, sibling rivalry etc. It was always fun to find and read an old one to see how things have changed

  • This could be something that you or they could make themselves. You could pre print sheets or write them up in a notebook.

  • I had this when I was a kid. I’m sure you can still buy something like that. Have you tried the book shops?

  • That sounds so sweet. I’m sure you could find it on Etsy or have it commissioned there. There are some really adorable baby books to fill in on Etsy.

  • Try kmart! There’s all sort of books there

  • Christmas is around the corner and there seems to be a wealth of diaries on sale in so many shops. Happy searching!

  • Thanks for the question, sounds good!
    Some great answers below.
Will take a look at some too.

  • You can find templates for that sort of thing online. You could then put them into a scrapbook.

  • There is heaps. Kmart have grandparent ones too. Have agoogle

  • I found this one called ‘My Friendship PortFolio : A Frienship Book to Fill Out’ https://www.amazon.com.au/My-Friendship-Portfolio-Activity-themselves/dp/B0B671Y1HN

  • Have you searched places like smiggle and office works? With the end of the year approaching journeys like this should start popping up. Good luck

  • We used to do this by just writing our own questions into a blank notebook and pass it around among friends (20+ years ago). I’m not sure if they have pre-written questions now, but maybe search friendship journal?
