Hello!

When I was a young child I was in a car accident and I am really hurt as it has recked my life. I wish I could be really smart and wish I could of had a high paying job… I forget a lot of things that have happened in my life and makes me so depressed.. I just wish I could live a happy and heathy life I have never felt normal after getting hit by a car when I was child, I wish I was just a lot smarter. If you have any advice on helping me that would be great. I also find it really hard to find nice friends that don’t ask questions etc and don’t treat me any different.

  • It sounds like you’re going through a tough time processing grief around the accident (e.g. if you felt you lost some part of you from it). I would definitely suggest talking to a psychologist to process the emotions and thoughts you have from this as childhood trauma can affect your whole life.

  • Aw bless you ! Sounds to me you struggle with the trauma of the accident & self esteem and think that you aren’t smart enough. First of all; being smart / having a lot of brains doesn’t make you more happy. We’re all unique and have different skills and strengths and all of us have weaknesses as well.
It may be good to get some counseling to go through the trauma of the accident.
When you struggle with being forgetful and getting depressed about that, it would be good to look at practical tips and tricks that can help you; notes/reminders, planner, timer/organiser, apps on your phone or ipad to remind you, informing a friend or family member and ask for support.

  • I always tell people who are having a hard time to look at what you’ve got, right now, instead of what you don’t have. Honestly, when you add up what you have, even at your lowest you’ll get impressed

  • My advice would be to focus on the positives in your life rather than the negatives. A positive outlook can go a long way to helping you enjoy each day.

  • Try not to think about it & take yourself to a happy place, try to find positive things in life that make you happy, don’t dwell on what you don’t have but aim for what good things you want in your life, only you can make yourself happy.

  • Sorry! It is interesting reading the comments and interest to this!

  • I am so sorry that it happened to you, I hope that things have improved.

  • If you haven’t already, I’d suggest speaking to a qualified counselor or psychologist, They are training to help you through issues like this. It isn’t easy getting over such a traumatic experience, but many people do or at least learn to live with the experience as part of who they are, but not let it define them. Wishing you all the best.

  • You poor thing. You also have low self esteem. Rise high in the blessed life you have. Yoy lived! Find a hobbie. Like poetry or painting to express your self. You have alot of passion inside. Dont feel small. Feel big in the life you have.

  • There are counselling services available that can help you, speak with your GP and you should be able to get a referral for somewhere.

  • Would seeking some counselling help you, have you tried this already?

  • people that a true friends won’t care at all and will be there for you

  • I hope life works out and you find happiness

  • good luck on your mission, sadly it seems as though your life will never be perfect after your accident, but there are things you can do to try and help your memory

  • i hope your getting better

  • Being happy in life is not about how much you earn, or how smart you are, it’s about being happy with who you are and only allowing people who accept you as you into your life. Scrapbooking key events in your life, or just writing them in a journal are great ways to preserve memories and will give you good reference points to refer back to if you have a memory lapse.

  • Sorry to hear of your accident. Try get into the community more and find some friends with similar interests. Learn a new skill or as others have suggested, try volunteering.

  • Im sure you are doing the best you can, remember some of the richest people never even graduated high school and some of the wealthiest people are amongst some of the saddest people around!

  • there are some good comments here

  • maybe try going to the docotrs
