Some garden centres have a cafe and it would be something different to take them there for a Devonshire Tea, as they would love that as lunch might be too much for them.
You say they have lots of photos of the kids, but have you tried photos in a different form? Eg calendars, books, tshirts, jigsaw puzzles, blankets, stubble holders……etc There are so many fun ways for photos these days
It depends on their mobility. It is very difficult when you cater for their needs and run out of ideas by Christmas time. If they already have plenty of photos, hand made gifts etc you can give them non perishable food you know they are able to eat. I know an elderly couple who are regularly given photos, new clothes and other items regularly during the year. One family gives them a hamper of luxury type groceries, things they would never think of buying themselves. They occasionally say how much they loved something they have enjoyed something that was in their “treasure chest”. Sometimes we have forgotten what we have put in it
Just spending some time with them arrange a picnic somewhere or just hang out at there place cause all they really want is some precious time with there family
Definitely an outing together or something where memories can be made. I f they have everything already, then these types of gifts mean more than anything
Something to make memories with the kids. It’ll mean as much to the kids as their grandparents in the long run. Maybe zoo passes, or movie vouchers so they can take the kids so see something over the holidays, or a museum pass. Offer to pack a picnic so they can take the kids to the park. Even simple things like going on a bus ride with my nanna was an amazing experience for me as a small child.
Spend quality time with them,
Doing something they love,
Arts and crafts that the kids can join in to make it more memorable, make flower pots and plant seeds or flowers in them as well, can never have enough plants!
Arts and crafts gifts are always special and wonderful keepsakes. Personalised pretty pot plants are enduring and make a patio, balcony or garden look wonderful.
Cookies and baked goods the kids helped to make. And present them in decorative bags. That’s what I’m doing this year with homemade shortbread cookies dusted with icing sugar.
