Hello!

Recommendations for pedestal fans? – I am looking to buy a new pedestal fan. I feel like I buy a new one every year or two (I buy a cheap ones and then regret it quickly when it breaks or starts to rattle). So I want to invest in a quality one that will last. My partner loves to sleep with a fan on his face but I don’t (which is why we don’t have a ceiling fan). Can anyone recommend a good brand or specific model of pedestal fan? Something that looks great in a bedroom, not too noisy and with good control over how hard it blows (our current one’s options are super fast, super super fast & blow you over! Not good) Thanks

  • We bought Sunbeam pedestal fans for the bedrooms two years ago and they are fantastic. We paid about $150 each but they are worth it. Very quiet and lots of speed and direction options. They come with a remote control and they also have a timer.

  • Cool! Really interesting comments read on this!

  • I love the no blade ones but they are very expensive

  • If money is not an issue, then go for Dyson. But seriously, I’ve never spent more than $20 on a pedestal fan, and I use them all the time in Summer, and they last me for years.

  • I actually like getting a new one often. Saves me cleaning the blades after they’ve been sitting through winter and I don’t have to find anywhere to store them through winter! We are tight on space! Lol.

  • I have both a tower fan and cheap $10 pedestal fans & I love my cheaper ones best. I’ve had my cheapies for over 10 years.

  • Tower fans are very stylish and compact. You can purchase through bunnings

  • there are some good comments here

  • Some good advice there below.

  • We bought a tower fan instead – and love it!

  • I love the bladeless fans and I think they work as heat too. Thinking of getting one for a caravan

  • I wish I knew exactly what mine is. It’s a misting fan (can be used as a normal fan) and it has a sleep function. In this mode it is quieter, not that it’s load to begin with and the wind is gentler and not as constant. Maybe look for one with this function.

  • these are some great ideas

  • The bladeless fans look amazing, I’ve been wanting to invest in one for a while

  • Dyson has some awesome bladeless fans that look super stylish, I know Good guys stock them but they are a little pricey.

  • there are lots of good brands to choose from

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • I’ve been using a pedestal fan for myself and it’s a really cheap one and lasted for years…did I get lucky or did you get unlucky?!

  • i got a great industrial type one from bunnings..it works great, also i have invested in a quite expensive one from domayne, it has no blades, and i love this feature as i have small children.

  • I am not sure pedestal fans work better based on brand, I go by size of blades
