Hello!

My daughter is having a baby soon, she doesn’t like a lot of fuss made about her but would like to play some games, any suggestions on games that are low budget and fairly quick to play?

  • I didnt have any baby showers as like your daughter I dont like a fuss being made over me and also I just dont want people to feel that I expect them to spend money on me.

Pin the dummy on the baby …like pin the tail on the donkey sounds like a bit of ufn

  • There are so many ideas available on Google (I got curious and did a little search). At the most recent baby shower I went to we guessed the bump size, put together a sweep for baby’s birth date and size, but most parties games can be baby themed.

  • You can play the guess the bump size game where you go around with a string and scissors and each guess needs to cut off a length to represent how much they think they would need to go around the bump (like a measuring tape), closest wins a prize. You can also do the guess the chocolate game where you melt chocolate into some nappies and guests will guess what kind of chocolate. Trivia games are also quite fun too.

  • Another game we played was called ‘pass the baby’ You get a ‘baby’ or a bottle or your choice of item and then you read a story ie. ‘one day everything was perfect and right’ then whenever the word left or right is said allowed the baby must be passed in that direction, the person with the baby at the end of the story is the winner. If you have a big group you can throw in a dummy and a bottle and have a few items going around and a few small prizes,

  • Oh how exciting! Congratulations! I hope the baby shower goes wonderfully!
There are SO many out there but some I remember most… everyone has 5 little pegs clipped to them and if someone says the word baby (or your chosen word) during the day another person can call them out and take a peg from them. At the end the person with the most pegs wins. It’s such a great game to get people to mix together.

  • There are so many games out there it is hard to pick the right ones sometimes. I loved the simple games like guess the jelly beans in the baby bottle, simple but always fun. I also got a cute white teddy and had everyone write a note on it for my daughter to read when she was older.

  • Some come to mind:
Dirty nappy game: all the guests melt different types of chocolate bars into nappies and then need to try to guess the type chocolate by looking and smelling.
Guessing game: each guest brings a baby photo of themself and then the party guests need to guess who is who.
Dummy bopping: the guest need to catch the dummies from a bowl of water by using their teeth

  • There are so many free printable baby shower games available online! If you don’t have a printer at home, you can easily print them at your local library. It’s such an affordable and fun way to entertain everyone at the shower.
    Some great game ideas include:
Who Knows Mum or Dad Best
    Baby Bingo
    Baby Word Search
    True or False
    Find the Guest
    He Said, She Said
    Baby Name Game
These games are simple to set up and guaranteed to get everyone involved and having a great time.

  • 2 fun games are water break and the size ribbon. First, who can get the water to break the fastest. It’s a jelly baby lolly frozen in water in an ice cube. You give each guest an IceCube in their cup, the first to break/melt the baby out of the cube wins. 2nd easy one is with a ribbon to guess the size (bump) of the mum to be! The closet to the mum to be ribbon length is the winner.

  • At my friends baby shower we had a doll we had to put in nappy and onesie and fastest time wins a chocolate bar or baby themed gift. Xx I am 45 with adult kids and I won it was lots of fun. They also had baby photos of the parents to be and we had to guess their ages in each photo.
