I was interested in reading the answers from this post too. I’ve often wondered how useful and effective they actually are.

These are awesome! Go out, come home and your vacuuming is done. Only fault is they don’t get right into the corners or real close to the edges

Aldi $180.00 at the moment the brand is Sterling. Friend brought one and likes it.

My mum has the roomba it cost about 80 or 90 dollars and it is brilliant very quiet and does work well.. I’m thinking of getting one for myself as i am in the same situation as you.

We have a robomaid which we like…ish. My problem is, it’s most effective if you set it to run when yu aren’t home or are in bed, but in order to use it you first need to pick up EVERY.SINGLE.THING on the floor. Big food scraps, small toys, big toys. With 2 small kids that leave enough food on the floor each day to feed a small starving village, that takes time that I often don’t get. So while the Robomaid could be working when I’m not, it takes prep time I often dont have. It’s good – but it still requires a certain amount of organisation.

I’ve had the iKlebo for 4 years now. Does different surfaces but the setting needs to changed prior. Mine comes with a mop attachment and its used for cleaning up the dining & lounge room now. I usually let it run at night to clean up dust, crumbs, etc. and walk into a clean kitchen floor the next morning, ah bliss!

My Mum swears by her robot as she is elderly & not as active to manually vacuum regularly. I have even noticed the improvement on her livingroom carpet when I’ve called in to help her lately.

My mum bought the Iroomba and she is very happy with it, but she does not have kids and the added mess there… would be interested on hearing others thoughts too

I bought a mid range one of the internet. I would say it would depend on your house. You cannot have anything on the floor like toys etc and they can get stuck under the sofa and beds. I use it in our front lounge room as I like the way it makes the carpet look, but it only picks up a bit of carpet fluff. I would recommend instead getting a good stick vacuum. I got a dyson one and it is brilliant.

I bought one from aldi, under $200 which had all the features of the expensive brands. Whilst mine was used daily at first and did a wonderful job I found I would have to go around making sure there were no charging cords lying on the floor (my daughters room arghhh!!!) or it would get stuck. I’ve found lately that I use the cordless stick vacuum in preference to the robot.
