  • Most people can eat gluten without negative side effects.
Gluten is a protein found in many grains, including wheat, barley, and rye. It’s common in foods such as bread, pasta, pizza, and cereal. Gluten provides no essential nutrients. People with celiac disease have an immune reaction that is triggered by eating gluten.

  • gluten has been in our diets for a very long time and our bodies have grown accustomed to it. everything in moderation. i would be more concerned about preservatives in my diet rather than gluten

  • I have no problem with Gluten but a lot of people I know suffer with different dietary disorders. So if it doesn’t upset you or cause you any problems it’s fine.

  • My opinion is that you can have a bit – but try not to have it every meal. My naturopath said that because gluten is heavy it can flatten the stomach lining which means there is not as much surface area for nutrients to be absorbed, so it can – for some people – stop the absorption of nutrients. But like anything else in life – it is all about balance

  • A nutritionist advised me that Gluten is also important . If your child has an intolerance or enzyma perhaps cut otherwise leavecin

  • I think it is more of a balance as there are health benefits for it . Most items have gluten so unless you are gluten intolerance , there is no reason to go n a gluten free diet. Also anything like this is much dearer on the shelves as it is a specific health product .

  • There are so many theories on so many different types of food. It’s something new everyday. I’ve stopped listening and just eat as healthily as I can

  • I think it is important to have a certain amount of gluten in your diet UNLESS their is a medical/health reason why it’s excluded. Anything that suggests completely eliminating anything is not healthy

  • If you are not Coelliac or have a gluten intolerance, then gluten is fine

  • I worry about any way of eating that tells you to completely eliminate anything UNLESS you are allergic or intolerant. Cut back for sure but i wouldn’t totally eliminate it.

  • My opinion is….if your allergic to gluten, don’t eat it. If you are allergic to it, don’t eat it. But ultimately it’s your choice

  • Yes its unless you have an intolerance!

  • I heard that unless you have an intolerance, you should include it otherwise it could cause problems ie end up with an intolerance!

  • Don’t worry I still have gluten in my diet! A little bit of everything in moderation! I think that is the best way to go.

  • Dont avoid Gluten unless you suffer from Celiac disease, only avoid highly processed foods!

  • All these lovely ladies are so helpful!

  • Thanks for all these helpful comments.

  • i think that even if you cut the stuff out just a little bit, it is easier for your body and it is nice to have a break from all this stuff

  • It sounds like as little gluten as possible in the diet is the way to go. I have one slice of whole grain bread a day and rarely eat cake or stuff with wheat in it so I think I am on the right track! Thanks ladies for all your help.

  • I think everything in moderation personally.
