Hello!

Hi! Does anyone know what are the effective ways to clean the slime on jeans? Or clothes? My kids put the slime on my favourite jeans. Google says to use vinegar but I’m afraid if its make a mark or patch like discolouration on the jeans.

  • Place the affected garment in a sealable plastic bag.
Place the bag in the freezer for a few hours or until the slime hardens.
Once the slime is frozen, carefully scrape off as much of the hardened slime as possible using a blunt object like a spoon or butter knife.
Launder the jeans or clothes as usual using a gentle cycle and appropriate detergent.

  • Get plain white vinegar, you can dilute it a little. Worked a treat for removing slime from my girls clothes but I did it straight away with a vinegar soaked cloth.

  • I’d definitely go with white vinegar. I doubt it will leave a stain.

  • I like to use Eucalyptus oil for slime removal. Vinegar shouldn’t leave a mark

  • I do not have any solutions for you but am interested to hear the solutions as my daughter has recently gotten into slim etc and have always wondered how I would get it off.

  • Freezing Method: Place the affected garment in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a few hours. Once the slime is frozen, gently scrape it off with a blunt knife or spoon. This method helps to harden the slime, making it easier to remove.

Vinegar Solution: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Soak a clean cloth in the solution and gently dab it onto the slime stain. Let it sit for a few minutes to loosen the slime, then gently scrub the area with a soft brush or cloth. Rinse with water and allow the jeans to air dry. Vinegar is generally safe for most fabrics, but it’s always a good idea to spot test in an inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn’t cause any discoloration.

Rubbing Alcohol: Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a clean cloth and blot the slime stain. The alcohol helps to break down the slime’s sticky texture, making it easier to remove. Once the slime is lifted, rinse the area with water and let it air dry.

Laundry Detergent: Apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to the slime stain and gently massage it into the fabric. Let it sit for a few minutes to penetrate the slime, then wash the jeans in the washing machine according to the garment’s care instructions.

Commercial Stain Removers: If the slime stain persists, you can try using a commercial stain remover specifically designed for removing sticky residues. Follow the product instructions carefully and test it on a small, inconspicuous area of the jeans first to ensure compatibility.

Remember to always check the care label of your jeans for any specific cleaning instructions and avoid using hot water or heat on the slime stain, as it can cause the slime to set further into the fabric. Additionally, be gentle when scrubbing or rubbing the fabric to avoid damaging the fibers.
