  • When I do a brisket, I like to serve it on a bed of mashed potatoes with other veggies on the side. This goes really well with a nice cheese sauce. There is a good one on BBC if you Google cheese sauce recipes. Other than that, if you cook it in red wine, etc. it has it’s own sauce and wouldn’t really need anything.

  • Another option in addition to my comments below is to take a good look at the recipes section on this site. There is a possibility that there is a yummy sauce waiting to be discovered. I often source the recipes section on this site for food to cook and some recipes have become favourites.

  • I found the best investment was to purchase slow cooker recipes books. These recipe books contain a range of delicious recipes and sides. Sauce and gravy is individual and everyone has different tastes. It is a good idea to try out different sauce and gravy recipes and find one or many that suit your tastebuds.

  • The brisket recipe on Recipe Tin Eats is incredible. You’ll find the sauce recipe there, it’s sweet, savoury and lush. I cook the brisket in the Dutch oven, there’s a separate link in the notes if you’re after oven instructions. Both the sauce and meat freeze really well separately. Hope you enjoy!
