Hello!

Stains on white basin….anyone know any good cleaning products to remove green stains around taps on a basin in bathrooms and also light brown ones in actual basin?

  • I use gumption. You can find it in the cleaning isle at Coles or woolies. It’s about $5, and comes in a tub. I find it works better than cream cleansers and can lift stains out of surfaces.

  • I drench a paper towel in Vinegar, and leave it overnight on the stain/stains. Then I use a brush, a toothbrush works best making it easier to clean.

  • do you know what the stain is? as that could help determine what to use

  • maybe gumption?

  • I use jif and sometimes bleach if it’s a stubborn stain.

  • I’d try gumption or jif I find these both clean sinks baths etc really well

  • Not off the top of my head – have you considered asking the manufacturer for advice? They might have a recommendation.

  • As much as I prefer to use natural remedies, for stubborn water stains in the basin and around the taps, I think White King Bathroom Powergel is one of the most effective products you can buy (great for the toilet bowl and shower too).

  • CLR Bathroom & Kitchen cleaner removes stubborn stains in basins & baths, great for cleaning calcium & lime deposits on the shower rose also.

  • Jif cleans most stains in the bathroom, you could give it a go!

  • I’ll be testing out these tips. Didn’t realise the green stains could be an issue with our drinking water tho, might have to get that checked

  • Try gumption or spray with antimold.

  • Just mix vinegar and baking soda into a paste, apply to the stains and wait about 10 minutes before wiping off. To prevent these stains, you’ll want to have your water tested to see what is making your water so corrosive.

  • Rub the green down with a lemon cut in half, or use vinegar. You could also make a baking sofa paste with baking sofa and water and leave it to sit for a couple of hours before scrubbing down. Not sure about the brown stain sorry
