Hello!

Do you feel guilty if you do not buy a swag of easter eggs for everyone? With all the holidays we seem to have labour day, Australia day, Easter etc it all adds up. Do you still feel you should buy lots of colourful easter eggs, or do you decorate hard boiled eggs instead?

  • We celebrate hard – but always within our budget!

  • Chocolate eggs is not a must. Boiled and hand decorated fresh eggs are also cute. There are years I also baked easter breads

  • I buy eggs every year for my husband and do a trail leading to his big treasure pile of chocolate. Now we have a baby I can’t wait to do these things for our son too ????

  • we have not bothered with easter eggs in years. i do not see a point in chocolate trading with family for a religious holiday we do not even follow.

  • Yes, easter eggs are the best and I still get a Red tulip bunny from my mum.

  • Only for family

  • These days I only buy Easter eggs for my nieces and nephews.

  • I do for members of family that l see at Easter,l do love a chocolate easter egg!

  • I now buy blocks of chocolate as they are better value and you get more chocolate!

  • I love easter eggs! Although I think they come out way too early in the stores. I probably lowered my purchases before I had kids, but they’ve bought them right up! I like the little ones as that way they only have one or two and don’t get too much chocolate at once!

  • I don’t think you should feel guilty as I find others feel guilty if you buy something and they don’t . If I happen to have a catchup with a friend for example and it happens to fall on that Easter weekend I might by something small ( as a token ) but otherwise I don’t think it is necessary. I see some people might buy a bag of small eggs to give to everyone ( eg at work ) unless someone is very generous , but there is no right or wrong .

  • Yes,my kids are in there 20’s,& I have a 7 yo .They get cash & eggs.

  • Great! Its very interesting reading the comments on this too!

  • I only buy easter eggs for my son and nieces+nephews.
Once they reach a certain age, I won’t be.
That’s just how my family works though :)

  • I happily buy Easter eggs; love the colourful foil wrappers. They look great in a bowl or wrapped in cellophane.

  • NO, I have not bought eggs for my children nor nieces and nephews since they were toddlers, My theory is that they have enough junk food and get enough access to chocolate over easter that I do not have to add to it, I certainly do give them chocolate and I buy family blocks of chocolate in the weeks leading up to easter as it is ALWAYS on special for silly cheap prices, and I give them some money, for the little ones I give them a small choc bunny and then perhaps $10 which is less than what I would spend on eggs, less hassle, and they love it, because they get chocolate elsewhere, they have the bunny so they have their token easter egg, and they get to go shopping, this has become a tradition and some others in the family have adopted the same policy, the kids have come to budget for the money now, LOL, We do have a easter egg hunt which is where they get most of their eggs from but the kids are all made to collect and then distribute them evenly so that they all get their share, we celebrate easter, but the commercialisation of it is minimised and as I said the kids have come to budget for the money and they really look forward to the envelope that they get.

  • Yeap still make the chocolate eggs

  • Yes still buy easter eggs any excuse for some Cadbury chocolate

  • I will definitely not go overboard with the kids this year. By the time they get eggs from lots of different family members there is chocolate in the fridge for weeks.

  • yeah gotta have the choocy eggs
