Stopping birds from throwing wood chips?

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how we can stop birds from throwing the wood chips in our garden everywhere? They end up all over our path, porch and lawn. We only have a thin border around the garden which is only a couple of centermetres high so I’m not sure if a higher border would stop the wood chips from flying outside the border!!? ..all idea’s welcome as we are not gardeners – help!

I will read this with much eagerness… I have the same issue. Ours appear to mostly be the yucky minor birds…

Sounds like you need something to keep the birds away. Jingley, noisey things hanging in the bushes. Shiney things are meant to as well. Plastic snakes. Good old scarecrow. Hope you find something that works, sounds annoying

Owls deter birds so look and getting some …. Bunnings have owls

I am being educated, snakes in the garden, owls around the place, never heard of any of this, I hate snakes! But if it works!!

i think the plastic snakes or owls sound a great idea..also maybe a cd they wont like the shiny reflections

Maybe get a garden ornament. something that moves in the wind or by solar power. that might scare them away. also rubber snakes sometimes work and are not very obvious if you want the area clear.

My father and in laws struggle with this too – reading through to see if there is anything I can suggest to them! I know my dad will not put cds, streamers, or plastic owls up so will need to keep searching through the answers.
