We used a little before 6 months but tried as best as possible to keep my little one out of the sun. We used moogoo as it had good ingredients and it’s suitable for babies!
When I spoke to my community nurse she said it was fine earlier than 6 months (was asking for my then 4 month old) but also to use it sparingly. There are also some that say they are for 6 months
I think I bought a banana boat sunscreen that just said “for babies”
So I try to cover up without overheating her and then put it on anything uncovered
I started my son at 6 months, my son has very sensitive skin and flared up with majority of them sunscreens on the shelf. My doctor recommended Avene sunscreen as it’s zinced based apparently that’s a better/safer form of sunscreen.
If your child is younger than six months of age, sunscreen isn’t recommended. When it’s not possible to keep your baby out of direct sunlight, shade, clothing and hats are the most important ways to provide protection. Sunscreens labelled ‘for babies’ or ‘sensitive’ are less likely to cause skin irritation
6 months is recommendation!
My little one has just started using sunscreen and we got little urchins (purchased o line through their website) and absolutely love it!
I waited 6mnths until i used sunscreen on my little one but i have heard 3mnths you can use some. I got this last week it’s on special at Woolies at the moment! I love it already! Smells nice and has less of those not so nice chemicals that alot of sunscreens have.
