Hello!

I’m looking for some really arty and crafty ideas for a present for my daughter’s daycare mum for Christmas. She is really an amazing lady so we’d like to make her something special. I can’t even begin to google ideas because they will just explode my brain haha

  • Sorry, photo didn’t upload. Hopefully it works this time haha

  • I ended up getting really sick and ran out of time to make any of the wonderful suggestions. We just made cherry ripe balls and put them in decorated jars. 2 on the left of the picture were for her teacher (rudolph jar had maltesers, santa the cherry ripe balls) and the other 3 were for my aunties :)

  • What did you end up doing for this?

  • a personalised snow globe or glitter globe is a great idea! so cheap to make as well!

  • a snow globe. a decoration, a jar big enough to fit it, water and glitter, o)r a super cute photo of her kid in a photo frame.

  • I do like the personalised card idea from Manda..84 too – lovely. Hope the ‘poster’ has some good ideas now – I love them! :)

  • Kasey – your succulent idea sounds so lovely!

  • How about a bookmark or a coffee cup you coukd personslise it wuth a sharpie pen. Or a gift voucher or home made treats.

  • i think the best thing you could do is write in a card what they mean to you, your child and your family being a family day care educator myself thats what makes it all worth while :)

  • For my kids teachers we got coloured icecream bowls from Kmart and planted a succulent, then on the top sprinkled red coloured mini rocks around the plant. To top it off we added a snowman tree hanger pushed into the dirt. It was something different and made with love.

  • I just love personalised photo frames. They can be beautifully handcrafted and decorated.

  • cookies were always the gift of choice when I was a kid. either package some lovely fresh baked cookies in a nice little box or put together a cookie/cake/brownie recipe jar. layer all the dry ingredients into a jar big enough to fit it all and put the lid on. make a label with a list of what wet ingredients are needed to complete the recipe and baking instructions and wallah! :)

  • Is this something that you want your daughter to make, or something for the day care leader to have to make herself? For the first option, a series of pictures made into a little book is fun. For the second option, a gift card from a craft store works well.
