Hello!

Are there any other fellow Tasmanians out there who love the Uni Revue? I went and saw it last night and it was a definite improvement on the last 2 years. I really enjoyed the Rocky Horror Picture Show theme. One thing hubby and I have noticed, though, is that there is a lot less nudity than there has been in the past and while the show was still hilarious, it’s still not quite as funny without it as it has been in earlier years.
I would be interested in hearing anyone’s thoughts if they’ve seen the latest show and what they have thought of previous years.

  • It sounds like you had a great time at the Uni Revue! The shift away from nudity could be a response to changing tastes or an effort to appeal to a broader audience, but it’s interesting how it impacted your experience. The Rocky Horror Picture Show theme is a fun twist, though, and it’s great to hear the show has improved compared to the last couple of years.

I imagine the balance between keeping the humour edgy and evolving with the times can be tricky. For some, the shock factor of nudity might have been a key element, but for others, the humour itself is what stands out most. What did you think of the overall comedic style this year? Was it more focused on clever wordplay or physical comedy?

  • I believe that with the information you share, it will bring a lot of value to the readers and I hope that they will absorb the good and useful things. Slitherio

  • I’ve never gone but always wanted to. I have a friend that helps out at princess theatre and she actually said the same about the show.

  • It seems a few people might now be checking it out.

  • Sounds interesting. I’ll have to google this one.

  • I’ve always wanted to go

  • I’ve never heard of this show

  • Never seen this show; hopefully those from Tassie will be able able to comment.

  • This sounds so intriguing. I might need to visit my Tassie rellos.

  • Not from Tasmania but I’d love to know more about what it is?

  • The Uni Revue is not affiliated with Uni’s – I know the name is a little confusing there. Yes, it’s a Tasmanian thing. We love it. The basic gist of it each year is satire on current events and politics, some swearing and nudity included. It’s a hilarious show and they do a great job!

  • My daughter went with a bunch of friends and they had a ball! She’ll be going again that’s for sure

  • I haven’t heard of this either

  • Sorry, I’ve never heard of this. But uni things are always going to vary from year to year, because the participants will change.

  • Im not sure what the uni revue is. Is that a Tasmanian thing?
