Yes I grew up in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s seeing all stage shows with my parents. I was interested in Drama and studied fashion and music at school. My kids all have been to many stage shows and many, many musicals. Over the past few years they have become very expensive for me to shout tickets. We still go but have cut down a lot and maybe see two a year sadly!

I absolutely take mine because they love it and I remember going as a child and it builds core memories. My tip is to try and look for mid week tickets or tickets that are sold closer to the performance date because these ones are often cheaper. You can also join websites that sell discounted tickets. I also did a goodie bag for Disney on Ice because I didn’t want to buy anything in there so this is a way you can save money on the extras if these factor into your planning. I just did a Woolies/Kmart run for food and a special Disney themed souvenir.

Something interesting I have just recently discovered – for big theatre shows it might not work but with little ones on tour I actually found the ticket price was cheaper at different venues! So it’s worth checking if the show you want to see it being held elsewhere as it might be cheaper!

We were lucky that we in the past received a couple of times free tickets to a show. I think we got the free tickets due to the fact we fostered children and still now we receive a free ticket to the Brisbane Christmas show via a disability organisation (but this will probably be the last year due to the age).
We never purchased tickets theatre or performances our selves

I will definitely take my kids to proper theatre shows when they are old enough to sit for the duration and take some interest. For the timing being I’ve taken my toddler to the wiggles and Emma memma, which he loved. And the bluey stage show, which was a little too slow for him right now.
These have been under $100 for us to attend
