Theatre visits and performances - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

Do you take your kids to watch stage shows? I grew up going to quite a few and I developed a love of the experience. Getting dressed up, the live orchestra, the set design and live performance etc. Now as a parent myself I realise how expensive the tickets actually are. Often to take our family is anywhere between $600-$1500! My husband didn’t grow up with these experiences so understandably says it’s too much for one show. We did go and see Mary Poppins and it was a magical experience but very expensive. Do you take your kids to shows or is it simply too expensive?

  • I will definitely take my kids to proper theatre shows when they are old enough to sit for the duration and take some interest. For the timing being I’ve taken my toddler to the wiggles and Emma memma, which he loved. And the bluey stage show, which was a little too slow for him right now.
These have been under $100 for us to attend
