  • I’ve been using the Shark Steam Mop S1000 for the past two years and it does a great job on our matte tile flooring and has held up to regular use. Sometimes I use water alone, and for a deeper clean I spray the floor first with a DIY diluted white vinegar and dish soap cleaning spray before mopping. I love that it comes with two washable and reusable floor pads!

  • The Vileda spin mop with the brush attachment sounds like a great idea; it gives you that scrubbing power to lift any stubborn marks without scratching.

For the cleaning solution, I’ve found a mix of hot water, a few drops of dish soap, and a splash of vinegar works well. It cuts through grime and doesn’t leave streaks. Another tip is to dry the tiles with a microfiber cloth or mop afterward to prevent water spots and footprints from showing up. Hopefully, this does the trick for you!

  • I use a steam mop and it says not to use anything but water in the reservoir, I put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on the pad which helps to break down greasy spots on the tiles and makes the floor smell nice afterwards and I also use the mop in the same direction as I’m going over the tiles.

  • I agree with the previous Mum, the Oats easy spray mop is amazing. Cleans really well and is super easy to use. Read the reviews and you will see it’s an amazing mop with great cleaning abilities. I now have purchased one for my Mum and told my sister about it and she went and got one as well.

  • The Oates ezi spray mop of course. So good for many different floor cleaning problems

  • I like the Sabco scourer mops. You can pick them up from some Bunnings stores and Mitre 10. I have been using it for years on wood and tiles and as you can use the scourer as well as the sponge, you can scrape off hard to remove marks. I have always just used cheap supermarket floor cleaner and it has worked for me. You need to use piping hot water for best results.

  • The Vileda Easy Mop and Bucket is easily the best that I’ve used lately. Gets into corners really well and wrings out super easy.

  • I use the vileda mop I think it’s called supermocio I find out of all my mops I’ve used this to be the best one and it makes my floors feel so clean after. A little tip for shiny floors I have tiles I’ve always used an old towel to go over my floors once I’ve finished mopping it stops them from streaking and leaving behind any marks!

  • We work quickly when cleaning the floors and make sure the conditions are good for drying quickly.

  • If u have a glossy floor I suggest use methylated spirite cleaner from bunnings they smell amazing and leave streak free finish mix with water or after mopping use as a polish don’t use on wood floors tho. Hope this helps ????

  • We use less product for a streak free finish.

  • When tiles are sticky after mopping this could be due to dirty mop water.
Once the mop water becomes dirty, you no longer lift dirt from the floor, you just spread it around. Mops can only pick up surface level dirt, and only as much as the fibers can hold. That means that much of the dirt and grime gets left behind, leaving you with sticky floors that still need to be cleaned.
Also you can use white vinegar—its acidity also helps eliminate stickiness! Add 1 cup of vinegar to a gallon of warm water and wipe the floors. Then, rinse the floor with clean water. The best thing about the vinegar method is that it’s a more environmentally friendly solution.

  • My tiles always seem sticky! I’ll be following for all the tips and tricks!

  • I have absolutely love my Koh mop with universal cleaning solution in it. Works great on our tiles!

  • I think the opinions are divided.
Some say to use a rag or chamois mop, not a sponge mop: A sponge mop pushes dirty water into grout lines, making them harder to clean later. Don’t use too much detergent: Your ceramic tiles might start to look hazy as soap residue builds up. Remove the film with all-purpose cleaner or a mild acid, such as fresh lemon juice.
Other say to use a micro fibre mop, others may swear by a steam mop

  • Dry mop 100%

  • Tinico wet / dry mop. The best investment ever

  • I always use a steam mop and have never had an issue

  • Maybe you are using too much product in your water.

  • I am sorry but I do not have any answers for you either. I struggle with this with my floors and have never found anything that really works. I hope someone in this group can give you a fabulous new suggestion that works on your tiles.
